Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an empirically based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies to increase psychological flexibility. With this strategy, I help individuals learn to connect with their thoughts and feelings and confront the processes that they have feared and avoided. Using ACT, clients gain insight into their personal values and take committed action towards behavioral change.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of evidence based psychotherapy that has shown to be effective for reducing stress, coping with challenges, and improving mood. I use an integrated approach to psychotherapy using elements of CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) that is individually tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual. The goal of CBT is to discover distorted thinking patterns and modify behaviors.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based approach that was originally developed for the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder. This therapy has been shown to be effective for the treatment of eating disorders, addiction, and PTSD by improving emotion regulation and modifying targeted behavior. With 5 years of DBT experience, I incorporate many of the skills into my individual practice. DBT is a manualized treatment approach that utilizes a group component. While I incorporate elements of DBT into treatment, I am not currently offering DBT therapy. My approach is compatible for individuals who have completed DBT (usually a 1 year program) and would like to continue working on skills.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy

I believe that Non Ordinary States of Consciousness can facilitate personal growth, insight and healing. Ketamine can be a positive adjunct to psychotherapy and encourage recovery from treatment resistant conditions and healing from trauma. I have specialized training in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and an interest in psychedelic medicine. In my private practice, I provide Integration Services and offer non-judgmental counseling to clients working with a ketamine protocol.
