Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based approach that was originally developed for the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder. This therapy has been shown to be effective for the treatment of eating disorders, addiction, and PTSD by improving emotion regulation and modifying targeted behavior. With 5 years of DBT experience, I incorporate many of the skills into my individual practice. DBT is a manualized treatment approach that utilizes a group component. While I incorporate elements of DBT into treatment, I am not currently offering DBT therapy. My approach is compatible for individuals who have completed DBT (usually a 1 year program) and would like to continue working on skills.
